About the Job:

1. JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent is responsible for leading Maroon Group’s marketing efforts to meet the needs of our customers, principals, and corporate objectives to drive the profitable growth of our business.  Responsibility includes our corporate marketing strategy, including all aspects such as collateral, advertising, PR, digital marketing, social media, and tradeshows.  

The Marketing Director is responsible for maintaining the branding of the organization and all of our operating companies. This includes the development and release of brand guidelines for use by all employees.  

The Marketing Director will be responsible for the management and leadership of Maroon Group’s Marketing Dept. including conducting annual performance reviews, identifying professional development opportunities, and ensuring they are meeting their performance objectives.   

As a leader in the organization, this individual is responsible for adhering to and positively impacting the culture of the organization.  Flexibility to work some nights and weekends, as needed.


2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

2.1. MARKETING STRATEGY AND EXECUTION

  • Develop and maintain our corporate marketing strategy, with inputs from our Executive Team and other key members of the organization.
  • Develop and adhere to a formalized, annual marketing budget.
  • Identify ongoing staffing and outsourced service requirements to achieve the goals of the department.
  • Exploration of marketing automation software solutions to improve the lead generating capabilities of the organization.  
  • Involvement with the integration of the marketing functions of acquired operating companies, including Day 1 planning, co-branding, websites, apparel, etc.


2.2. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

  • Responsible for the development of our corporate marketing collateral, including PowerPoints, Brochures, Direct Mailers, e-Product Guides, e-Newsletter, etc. for all
  • Maroon Group entities. 
  • Responsible for the positive promotion of our company via Press Releases and Social Media, including Twitter, Facebook, our Blog, LinkedIn, etc. 
  • Develop and maintain our email marketing programs.
  • Develop direct mail pieces and print and digital advertisements.
  • Maintain the content on our website, and monitor the effectiveness of our SEO via Google Analytics and other methods.
  • Spearhead specific product or principal Adwords campaigns where appropriate.
  • Generate additional marketing pieces as required, e.g. articles, white papers, etc.
  • Develop and manage the company’s speaking engagements for the Maroon Group Executive Team.
  • Coordinate trade show efforts as required including booth selection, design, booth setup, show scheduling, etc. Maintain an annual trade show calendar for distribution across the portfolio.


2.3. MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP OF MARKETING DEPARTMENT

  • Responsible for direct oversight and management of all members of the Marketing Department.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all of your direct reports in accordance with the Maroon Group policy.
  • Identify and implement professional development opportunities for the key members of the Marketing Dept. to ensure continuity and sustainability. 
  • Responsible for identifying additional resources required for the department.


2.4. INTERDEPARTMENTAL COMMUNICATIONS

  • Forge close working relationship with our Sales Leadership to meet their specific needs as well as our customers’ and principals’ requirements.
  • Forge close working relationships with our Operating Companies to ensure we are effectively identifying and executing their marketing needs.  
  • Work closely with all company personnel to support the performance of the organization.  
  • Provide support where required for other internal departments.


2.5. MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATIONS

  • Act as the point person for all marketing communications internally and externally.
  • Have ability to communicate with Executive Management and leadership teams of our operating companies as needed.
  • Generating reports as required.


2.6. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned to this position by the Executive Management team.


3. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE – DIRECT REPORTING LINES FOR THIS ROLE

3.1. Direct Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer

4. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent is required to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of marketing. The incumbent must be able to monitor metrics and analyze trends that are occurring, and make recommendations to keep us current and relevant in our target markets. A bachelor degree in business or a related field is required.  A fluency in Microsoft Office is required.

The incumbent must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication and organizational skills, as they will be responsible for interacting with colleagues and Executive Management on a daily basis. The ability to work in a team environment, prioritize work assignments, and act independently are all requirements of this position.  The incumbent is expected to act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Maroon Group culture and values statements.
